All Your Base/Crown/Tile Are Belong To Us

I am desparately close to finishing the majority of the interior work on my house. Here are some pictures of the work so far.

Crown molding in the living room. (Much thanks to my dad for the help)

Tile in the kitchen. (Much thanks to my brother and dad for the help)

I didn't bother posting pictures of the base molding because it is boring and generally unimpressive.

The last major objective is to tile the bathroom. My dad will yet again help me with this task next month. I can almost smell the house warming party.

Congratulations to my uncle Cris who has been nominated for his fourth LA area Emmy. Click on the picture of him holding the two that he has already won for the article.

French Kanyedian

Big ups to Keek Nation (who is coincidentally off the blog as she is, to use her own words, "over it") for showing this to me.

Since we are going to see Daft Punk this Saturday, this got us hoping that there might be a little guest appearance...maybe Cassie will show up, too.

Update on Danny

Two years ago today, a young kid I know named Danny was hit by a drunk driver while riding his bike. I forwarded his dad's request for prayer when I heard. His journey since then has been one of ups and downs all chronicled by his adoring father passed on to friends, family and well-wishers through email. I was privileged enough to have played ice hockey with Danny and his father Jeff and through that connection have kept tabs on Danny's progress.

It has been amazing to hear how his family have never stopped hoping and praying for his continuing recovery. It is also encouraging to hear how that recovery is going from time to time. I recall how much it put life in perspective when I heard about the accident two years ago. It is still a good reminder of how crucial it is to focus on the things in life that are most important.

So the next time you stop to ponder life, remember Danny and his courageous journey. Life is a gift from God that should not be wasted on petty things.

Love the Lord your God and love your neighbor as yourself.

Bush sucks

Call me unpatriotic. Call me partisaned. Call me a pinko leftist commie. Call me whatever you want....but this is sickening.
